Why lost people should matter to you

About a month or so ago, I was at church and the pastor was delivering his sermon about the importance of lost people in our lives. It does not matter if you believe in GOD or not, there are a lot of lost people in the world, within our country, and even on the street that you live on. They are people that are just like you and me, the only difference is that they don’t see their purpose in life. They tend to chase the wrong things in life because these things give them a sense of purpose. The only way that the lost can be found is if we help them any way we can. Here’s how..

There is an unknown friendship that is found in each lost person in your life. This friendship could be extraordinary or just plain normal like everyone else. Imagine having a friendship that is so incredible, that you have no idea what you would do if that person was not in your life. This is very possible because I have a friendship with someone just like that. She reached out to me and we started talking. Next thing I know, I have an amazing friend that I had been searching for years for.

There is an untapped potential that lives within each lost person that we come across. This potential could help you reach your goals or even help you succeed in your endeavors. They could possess an ability that is so rare that it is something that has never been seen before. Imagine for a moment how much your life would change for being the one that helped uncover this unknown gift. The world needs more positive people and that lost person you ignore could just be that person.

There are lots and lots of untold stories that we never hear in our life time. Stories
that help us reach success and some that help us after our failures. The lost people in your life have a story that will help provide answers to the questions that you have been searching for. I have had some questions answered by taking the time to talk to a lost individual. I know that I did the same for them. We are created to help one another, not isolate or exclude ourselves:

“Life is like a library and we are all books filled with a wonderful story to tell that will help others.”

Just like books, we cannot judge an individual based solely on what we see. We must take that chance to reach out to the lost individual in our lives. I know that fear will try to stop us from coming out of our comfort zone while reaching out to them. Just imagine the treasures that can be found when you ignore the fear and not the person.
