It has been little over 10 years since Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone to the world. We had basic forms of a smartphone years before but still nothing like what we have today. With today’s technology, the average person has the potential of reaching millions of people at any moment. With that capability, there are a lot of people that use their phones for mindless reasons or even use it to spread hate and evil into our beautiful world. Well here are 3 tips on how to use your mobile phone correctly.
Where its a YouTube, Vine, or Facebook video, we all find ones that make us laugh. It could be of a comedian doing a bit or maybe a baby today something silly. We all have found or watched one of these and they have helped reduce the stress of life. We also remember when and where we found it for future reference. Then we close the video and try returning back to whatever we were doing. That is where the mistake is that a lot of us make.
Yes life is difficult. Its difficult for everyone but we all experience it at different times and situations. Someone’s life may seem easier to you but it’s still difficult to them. Instead of keeping that hilarious video to yourself, why don’t you share it with others so that they can experience the same benefit the video provided for you. You just might be surprised by how many people will actually need to see that same video. Share and share some more.
A lot of times our words have a bigger impact on someone than our actions. Think about this for a moment. Think about the last time someone said something hurtful to you and then later proceeded to apologize with a hug. Which had the bigger affect on you… the words or the hug? You can be miles away from someone and still have a positive impact on their day. All it takes is a few simple words.
It can take a few seconds or minutes to change someone’s outlook on their day and life. As someone that used to have a major struggle with suicidal thoughts, simple words from special people eased the pain. That is exactly the impact you have one others. Just simple words like “You are beautiful”, “You are important to me”, and “I am thinking about you” are just a few examples that can lighten the weight on their shoulders. So what are you waiting for?
We all have a story to tell. If you don’t share it, then no one will know about the answers you possess. Part of your purpose in life is to share everything you achieved or fell short on so that others can learn and grow from it. Society has for so long told some of us that we are “damaged goods” and that we don’t matter as much as the others. I am here to tell you that this is a complete lie. No matter what you have been through, you are important to others more than you can imagine.
Now that you have been reminded of your purpose and value, what are you gonna do? That’s right!! Get on your fancy smartphone and start sharing your story. There are people in the world that cry out for help in their silence. Meaning they are seeking help without telling anyone. I should know because I used to be the same way. You don’t have to have a blog to share your story. You can do it through social media, face to face with someone or even through a series of videos. Do whatever you are comfortable with as long as you continue to share your amazing story.
Bonus Tip: Real life occurs outside our phones, not in them
We are fortunate to live during a time that each person can impact the lives of others so quickly and efficiently. The quote ” with great power comes great responsibility” is so true because you do possess great power. Too many people forget about the responsibility that really comes with it. Are you creating drama or starting conversations? Have you been the one demeaning and devaluing others or are you known as the person the encourages and motivates? I truly hope that you will begin to use your smartphone correctly and as it was designed for. Until my next blog post…Share. Inspire. Conquer.
